My Home Town

A case submitted by

I grew up in Delhi, India which is now one of the top polluted cities in the world. I am sharing this story because the environment plays an important role in my life and it deeply saddens me to think of the pollution and smog in Delhi, making it more and more difficult for people to live there. I remember waking up at 7 in the morning on the weekends, when I was in 2nd or 3rd grade so that I could go for a walk with my grandfather. The air used to be clean back then and I loved going to the park in the morning, it used to be so quiet and peaceful. But children in Delhi now do not have the privilege to experience this or even go outside and play without their parents being concerned about their health. Since I entered 11th grade in 2016, I only associate Delhi winters with smog and it hurts me to see my home town like this. I hope that we all realize how serious this issue is for the coming generations and take the necessary steps to save our environment.
