Through the Window

I’m sharing my story because I miss the snow. I’m a 22 year old recent university graduate. I just moved to a new city that I imagined to have beautiful snowy landscapes. It didn’t even snow one time this year. Back home in Virginia, I remember having to go home for the snow in elementary school. We’d all go peer out the window and a happy sense of chaos would descend over the class. As the snow would fall, we’d all hope it would be enough for us to be sent home. Eventually, it would be announced over the loudspeaker that our parents were being called and buses would be pulling up to take us home. We’d be out for days. This was at least a yearly occurrence. This was my first full year without snow.
